I love Marlo's little mouth in this photo. She's in her Bumbo seat watching me make dinner. She has to be in the middle of the action.

Sweetie

This little girl is such a sweetheart! She went to bed kind of early last night, so she woke up at 2 a.m. We were up till 4, just playing and laughing. I could have cared less if she went back to sleep at all, she was being such a little love.

Aunt Amy photos

Mark's sister Amy took a bunch of photos of Marlo when we were in Yuba City. I love them all...it's so wonderful to have these of my baby girl!
She smiles all the time, but it's almost impossible to get a photo of it. I'll talk to her and she'll smile at me, but when I put the camera in front of my face, I vanish and so does her smile. Eventually we'll get coordinated.

In the park

There was a reggae concert in the park today and we went down there for a few hours. There were a lot of people there, but in a good way. I loved watching all the little kids playing and dancing together. So cute.
Our friends Chris and Lisa stopped by for awhile. They moved to Laguna Niguel and we hadn't seen them in probably a year, far too long. I'm so glad they came by and got to see Marlo. They just got engaged and are looking forward to having kids of their own.

Princess Marlo

My mother-in-law got her this rattle that looks like a wand. It's so funny to watch her with it.

Auntie Amy

My sister came up today. Our goal was to go to the mall, but we never made it. We got Indian food and went home and let Marlo entertain us.

Boss lady

I love this little girl so much, but she was a handful today. She didn't have a good nap, so she was exhausted and a little bit crazy. She didn't want her toys, she didn't want me to read, and she certainly didn't want to cuddle. She just wanted me to walk her around the house so she could get a good look at everything. If I paused too long she would sass and yell.

I'm in trouble.

3 months old today!

We met Mark for lunch today. It seems like so long ago when she'd sleep through lunch in her car seat. Today she insisted on standing up, and in my lap or in the booth was not enough. She wanted to stand on the table so she had the best view.

Accidentals

Sometimes the ones you aren't trying for are the best.

a few from the trip

There are so many. I'll try to post more. This one of Marlo and my mom is one of my favorites. Usually Marlo looks so concerned with her little brows knit together. Mom joked that she had to work so hard to get smiles out of her.

Back home

We had such a good time. It was great to see friends and family, but it was hard to be away from Mark. Marlo handled it all pretty well, I must say. She was so good on the plane I told her I'd get her a pony.
Also, there's something wrong with my email account and until I get it figured out you can use threedewitts@yahoo.com.

Cousins

I put Marlo down to stretch out and kick under her mobile and I found Estee in there dancing and peeking at her cousin. She was really sweet to Marlo, giving her hugs and kisses. It was like she understood she was a little baby so she was really gentle. So cute.

They're having so much fun together...

Something new

Cousins

This is Marlo and Alana, my cousin Greg's daughter. She's six months old and weighs 14 pounds, so she's a dainty little thing.
My parents are in town. We went to a memorial service for my aunt Sharon's mom. It was a really beautiful service, and it was nice to see my family. It had been too long.

We went to the Carlsbad outlets with Amy today. Marlo was really an angel...she only fussed a little at the end. But it was a long day and I felt like fussing too.
My parents will be here tomorrow! I can't wait for them to see this girl!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

I know, it's 10 o'clock, but better late than never! Mark's grandmother Rosemary is 81 years young today. She is such an incredible woman. She has so much work to do, but always time to help others. Her love for her family is bottomless; she would do anything for any one of us. She is such an inspiration to me...such an example of what motherhood and family is all about.

These are from our walk this evening. I like going later so we're outside as the sun sets. It was 89 degrees today!

Bath time

Marlo has always loved taking a bath. She never fusses, just keeps moving those arms and legs, looks all around, checking everything out.

Aunt Lane & Uncle Tom

We had lunch with Mark today. I usually stop at Aunt Lane and Uncle Tom's afterwards because it's kinda nearby. Today Lane suggested I go get a pedicure while she watched Marlo. So Jessica and I went and got our toes done and it was so nice to just relax.
But at the same time it was weird. It's just weird to be without Marlo. I just think about her constantly and can't wait to get back to her. I was sitting there at the salon thinking, "No one here knows I'm a mother". I don't know how to really explain it.
But anyway I'm so grateful to Lane because I really needed that pedicure and it's so sweet of her to help me out (although I think she may have an ulterior motive: to get that girl all to herself!)

Happy Birthday Molly!

No one could ask for a better friend. She has done so much for me and been there through absolutely everything, I don't know what I'd do without her. She's always happy, always positive, always up for whatever. She really is the sunshine of my life. Have a GREAT birthday Molly! Love you!

I don't mean to brag,

but my husband is more handsome every day. I remember once his grandma and I were talking about a movie star that was supposed to be really good looking, and she said, "Well, he's no Mark DeWitt."
Isn't that the truth?

We've been busy

Mark just called to remind me to post something. I hadn't had a second to turn on the computer! I mopped, did laundry, worked out, then we went to Target. Marlo was very good the whole time, just dozing on and off. I, on the other hand, was very bad, and ate an entire box of Junior Mints before I left the parking lot.
I tried to prop her up on the couch but she was so squirmy I couldn't get many good shots. I love this outfit...we got it yesterday...didn't photograph so well, but it's really cute.

Happy girl

She's just so sweet and smiley. Had to add the one of her in the skirt with all her chub.

i love this one

it's kind of fuzzy and the color's not great but it captures the two of them perfectly.

Another one

that Mark took last night. He'll be home soon...he sometimes leaves early on Fridays. But early for Mark means 5:00 instead of the usual 8:00.
I am trying to figure out a trip up north with Marlo. I just need someone to fly with me. It will either be my mom or my in-laws and we should be up there by the end of the month.
