Grandpa John

John took Marlo over to the neighbor's house and her two year old granddaughter was over, so the girls had fun. I saw them out the front window as they were walking back home, it was the cutest thing.
John's peppercorn-crusted standing rib roast that we had for Christmas dinner. Pretty impressive!

Darling picture of Marlo and John...and the roast should be on the cover of Gourmet magazine.

unbeknownst to most, rib roasts must sit for a long time after cooking to ensure no valuable flavor jucies are lost forever to the evil core of the roast which stays cooler than the exterior and invites the jucies into its cool confides. When let set for a least an hour the juices think it is safe to spread back out, and that when you slice it up, FYI.
