More news...
Well we had to evacuate from our home at about 2:30 this morning. We went down to Del Mar to Mark's aunt Lane's. Then they got evacuated at about 8 this morning so we all headed north.
So now we're up in Laguna Niguel at Cecilia's, a friend of Lane's. We've got a hotel room in Laguna beach...we're lucky because everything is really booking up.
My sister just told me that they've removed the mandatory evacuation from our area, but we're not heading back just yet. The air quality is really bad (it's bad here) and there is just so much going on that we just want to stay out of the area all together. I'm trying to get her to get out too...
Last I heard 265,000 people were being evacuated and they think that the fire will make it to the coast. I don't know where everyone is going to go. San Diego freeways can be a mess at noon on a Wednesday. I can't imagine what they're looking like now.
I can't help wishing I had grabbed more stuff...I'm thinking of all the things I left behind...photos and momentos that can't be replaced. We just have a change of clothes and some toiletries. I grabbed our important paperwork and SS cards and stuff like that. I keep reminding myself that we're together and we're going to be ok, and that some people have already lost their homes.
We've had just a few hours of sleep, Marlo included, but she's thinking it's some kind of party! So that's all for now and I'll try to keep posting.

Oh my goodness...i told matt to call you and then when i read your blog i called him and he said that he already knew you evacuated!! he didnt even tell me.... i cant believe it! im so glad you are all ok! keep us posted!! if we can do anything, let us know!

We have been thinking about you guys, so glad you got out safely. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help, or if you need anything. We are now just right up the road from you in Ladera. Hopefully all of the fires are put out soon.
