stick a fork in me, as I am done

It's 5:45 am. I've been up since 4. Mark has been up since 3. This is not unusual.

The boys go to sleep around 6 in the evening. Then up at 10 or 11, and up again at 3 or 4 for feedings, which take an hour each time.

During the day, their sleep comes in three half-hour naps. They have to be walked/rocked for at least 10 minutes. You lay the first one down, then work on the next one...and fifteen minutes later the first one is up. It is a lot of work for such little reward, especially since they each weigh 18 pounds.

I have tried keeping them up later, but they are just so cranky and we're all so tired. I've tried to schedule their naps, but one will go down and the other won't. I've tried letting them cry it out in the same room or separate ones, and it makes no difference. They will cry till they break out in a rash.

My new method will be to just let them go until the point of utter exhaustion, because that's where everybody's at.

my dear dear friend. i wish i was closer to offer you some respite. really i do. anything else i could say seems so futile in a time when you are utterly exhausted.

I know you both work so hard. Hope your new method works and the boys start sleeping longer. Wish we were closer. Love you all.

I can only imagine how hard it is. I so wish I could be ther to give you a break! This is the hardest part of raising kids...the utter exhaustion of it all. Believe it or not, one day you will look back on these days and be able to laugh about it. Hang in there. Nap when the kids nap...let the house go to pot for a while. Take a bath when you can.
I love you! (I know that none of this "advice" really helps, but HEY I'm trying here)

Have you heard of the book "Happiest baby on the block"? I never actually read it but I used some of their methods... white noise and the miracle swaddle!!!!! I was actually really good at swaddleing and had swaddle sacks but by far the miracle swaddle makes a difference!!! I started this around 3.5 months and within 2 weeks they were sleeping through the night. As for getting a day schedule I let them tell me for like 3 days and recorded what they did on paper then sat down and meshed what they where doing... so I had to force one to stay up later or if it was eating make them eat a bit earlier or later. Hope this helped... I know you don't know me but if you need any twin advice or just someone who understands and you can vent to I'm here.
