Happier times....
It was so hard to leave yesterday. Mary and I kept saying, "It's really over?" And I cried at the airport, and I cried when I left Mom and John a few days before. We should be able to be with all the people we love, all of the time! The time just flew by and I didn't even get to see everyone I wanted to.
I have some lovely video that I can't post. Nothing I try works, but I'm trying to be patient. Both Marlo and I are sick. I feel so bad for her. But I'm grateful that we weren't sick for our trip!
All whining aside, we had a wonderful Christmas. I'm going to get this house spiffed up and then relax with Mark during his long weekend. I have a lot to post, so check back soon!

Tonight
we went to Quail Botanical Gardens with Lane and Tom. It was all decked out for the holidays with music, Santa, food...you could even roast marshmallows. Marlo loved it. She was leaning forward in her stroller trying to get the best view.
Then it suddenly started pouring as we were leaving. But that rain better go away because Molly's coming tomorrow!

I'd never seen the likes
of the lights at this place I went by tonight. These on the bottom were probably almost a foot high. The whole house was so beautiful, but I couldn't get a good photo of it.
I am obsessed with lights this year, all I want to do is drive around and look at them all night!
Actually, I'd like to sleep all night, but I've pretty much given up on that. (Maybe Marlo and I should go for a drive when she wakes up at 3 a.m.)

This girl...
So many of my pictures are just a blur because she won't hold still! I don't know how Amy gets so many photos of Estee, and that girl runs.
My mom said, "No wonder you're so tired".
And a BIG THANKS to my mother in law who installed the safety gate! I am completely incompetent at that type of thing, and I didn't see Mark jumping up to do it, but she did it no problem. She even tried installing the first gate I bought, which was ridiculous to say the least...the instructions were useless and you would have to have superhuman strength to put it together. But Mary never cursed or tried to break it over her knee as I would have done.
And then she put up garland and ribbon and lights! I'm telling you, she's got skills!

Christmas in Old Town
We had lunch there with my parents yesterday. Mark and I had been boycotting because Bazaar del Mundo along with our favorite restaurant, Casa del Bandini, had lost their contracts. It's now managed by a company out of New York. Anyway, bitterness aside, I have to say the park looked better and it was all decked out for Christmas.
That top photo is dried chili peppers. The bottom photo is horrible of me but Marlo looked too cute not to post it.
