Happy Birthday Heather!

My neice is 21 today and she's in Las Vegas to celebrate. I don't have any pictures of her because I'm in Napa. I know she's shopping her heart out. Love you Heather! I hope your trip is great!

Happy Birthday Marlo Ann...

11 months old today...I can't believe it. I'm trying to plan her first birthday party, and meanwhile her 11 month snuck up on me.
Let's see what she's up to now. Her last appointment she weighed 23 1/2 pounds. She's 28 1/2 inches long. She eats just about everything we do, her favorite are graham crackers...she thinks she is big cheese with those.
She copies everything we do, even pointing the remote at the tv (i hate to admit). Her new thing is to wrinkle up her nose and "sniff". She is also quite proud that she can click her tongue.
She isn't walking yet. She stands up perfectly and sometimes takes a step, but then decides it's faster to crawl and plops down. I am thinking it's any day now though...
Her favorite things to do are to read and go to the park. She is really animated and expressive, and loves to interact with people. She is just a smiley happy sweet little girl!

The party continues....

So I called my mother-in-law to get her recipe and I baked a cake! I know it looks pretty homely, and I may have forgotten a thing or two. But most things I bake turn out to be complete flops (sometimes literally) so I am pretty impressed with myself. And I figure we have many more birthdays to celebrate, so I can only get better, right?

Mark looking gangsta in his Yuba City gear that his mom sent. He loooved it. He tried on every piece of it last night. He didn't really want to pose for a photo though...

From today at the restaurant, it was so much fun. There were about 25 people there and even though Marlo missed her nap she was a very good girl. I'm sure it helped that she was getting so much attention.

Oh she sure loves her daddy. She is really thinning out. Pants that were tight on her belly at 2 months ago are falling off of her now. But at least she still has those arm rolls.

These are the felt booties Auntie Ann made. They fit perfectly. Aren't they the cutest?

  4. He can juggle
  5. He always remains positive and never loses his temper
  6. He has great pride and loyalty for his family and where he comes from
  7. He is incredibly smart and can do anything he puts his mind to
  8. He's damn handsome
  9. He loves a good game and excels at anything competitive, be it a sport or poker ;)
  10. He is the best husband and friend I could ever ask for

Giving the finger

She points at everything and it's so cute. If she's excited she'll stick out her lips and go "Ooooo, oooooo!" I love seeing that one pudgy finger sticking out while she's looking through her books or poking at her toys.
On our last plane ride when the stewardess was at the front doing the emergency-exit-fasten-seatbelt demonstration Marlo was standing up on my lap, pointing at her the whole time.

Busy, busy

Trying to "walk" with Auntie...she was more interested in looking at her upside down.

At the play area at the mall (thank goodness for that)

Not looking too thrilled...

That face...

She's been so sick with a cold but she is still her sweet, silly, curious self and I love her so much.
OH AND CAN I GET SOME COMMENTS YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

Little copycat

Marlo also likes to brush her hair, file hair nails and try to put on her own clothes. At first I thought her ears were bothering her, but I soon realized she was putting her hand to her ear when I was on the phone.
I just find it all so adorable, especially because when she's mimicking she looks at me with her eyebrows raised like, "Am I doing this right Mom?"

The last of the Tahoe photos, I promise...

The top three are at Squaw Valley Ski Resort, where Amy and I went to the spa. I love that place, I want to stay there sometime. There's an ice skating rink and you can go on a dogsled ride. They even set of free fixin's for smores!
There's not only a hotel, but condos. The HOAs are $1700 a month. (That was not a typo!)
We had such a good trip, I'm wishing we were still there. We've decided to take the kids there every year. How grown-up does that sound?

Still more...

These two...

what a pair. I love them so much.

Winter wonderland...

It is really breathtakingly beautiful in Tahoe. I can't get over it. I used to think that I could never live in the snow, but after this trip I take that back. It's just a different feeling up there...so calm and peaceful...I think I could make it.

Snow bunny

We had a great time! I have lots of photos, but I'm exhausted. Long day of driving and flying, but it was all worth it.

Some funny faces...

These are from a few days ago. I haven't taken many pictures since because she bonked her head numerous times Monday night and now looks like a little bruiser. Both Mark and I were right there the whole time, but I think she was on a mission for destruction. We are not getting Parents of the Year.
Well actually, we might. For taking your baby on the most vacations. We leave for Tahoe tomorrow and it will be Marlo's second time there. She's been to northern Cal numerous times, Catalina Island and Las Vegas. And she's only 10 months old. How fancy.
I'm so excited for this trip. I love it up there and I haven't been to the snow in ages. I'm already booked at the spa....and so looking forward to seeing Matt and Amy and little baby Noah.
We'll be back Sunday night and hopefully I'll have some good photos to post next week.
