from when Heather was here. She and I were eating Junior mints (so unusual for me, I know) and left the box on the couch and guess who found them? When caught, she just started chewing as fast as she could.

It was so nice to have my niece here! She helped me out so much! And of course it is just great to spend time with her. We did some shopping sans Marlo, went to the zoo and we even went to the movies. My first time in two years!

Marlo wasn't feeling well, so we didn't do as much as we wanted to. But Heather was such a help with her. I'm a first time mom and she's a nanny, so it was such a comfort to have her with all that knowledge and experience.

16 months old today!

Such a big girl! Marlo's next doctor appointment is in a few weeks, but I think she's about 27 pounds. She's got ten teeth and I think her molars may be coming in.
She's really talking a lot. Her first three syllables were, "Hi, Bina," to Sabrina. I love her little voice. The best is when she says "pretty, pretty" when she sees jewelry.
My neice Heather is here visiting and she took this picture. Marlo NEVER leaves her sunglasses on, but she was showing off for Heather. Such a ham.

Sabrina said, "I'm tired. Can somebody carry me?"
Mom and I, being the sweet, sacrificial people that we are, both refused because it was too hot. I then realized Sabrina wasn't really asking either of us. She meant Uncle Mark.

More from the visit...

I took this at Benihana. I think Sabrina was impressed. She sat there with her hands folded in her lap, enjoying the show.


As soon as she got to my house, Sabrina wanted to show me everything she brought. The crocodile and the panda don't count, they were from the zoo. Not pictured: her activity books and her purse. My favorite is her robot claw.


I got this "Playball Tent" at Ross for $9.99 and I think I paid too much for it. It didn't fully inflate and it was short on balls. The instructions were pointless and it was my mom and I putting it together so there was little hope.

But that doesn't mean the girls didn't love it. Notice in the picture Sabrina has a noose around the pony. She has an obsession with tying things up. I repeatedly found Marlo tied by her ankle to the banister or her high chair .

The beach

It was Sabrina's first time in the ocean and she was fearless! My mom had to go out there with her and jump waves.
Marlo had the time of her life eating sand and destroying Sabrina's creations.

30 years ago today...

Mary made this blanket for Marlo for our vegas trip, although I was afraid to take it out of our hotel room lest it get ruined. I know, psycho. But it's so cute!

So sweet...

Eating her frozen yogurt with her tiny little spoon. She was so serious about it. It just melts my heart how she wants to do everything we do and how she looks to us for approval.
She is really such a sweet girl. Today on our walk she was waving and saying "hi" to birds.

I lied...

She loved running down the hall at the hotel.

We had so much fun! We had lots of great food: Rainforest Cafe, Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill, great mexican at the Venetian. Mary and I got massages at the Wynn spa, it was the best I've ever had. She and I saw Le Reve too (Wynn's version of Cirque du Soleil) and it was amazing. It's in a smaller theater so every seat is good. Highly recommend it!
And of course it was great just to see my in-laws! We are missing you guys!

I can't believe I'm posting this, but...

we were walking through the Mirage, Mark was pushing Marlo in the stroller and none other than Shar Jackson waved to her and asked Mark, "Can I have her?" (For those of you who don't know, Shar is Britney Spears' baby daddy's baby momma)
And then as they passed, Brandy gave Mark a little pat on the back and said, "She's cute!"

I know I'm cheesy but I just had to tell that story!
