I came across a recipe online for German pancakes in muffin tins awhile ago. I remember it was almost exactly like the one I'd been using from my mother-in-law. Rather than search for it this morning I just winged it, doing a half batch like I always do since it's just three of us.
Here's how it went:
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 tbs. salted butter, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup flour
cooking spray
Heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine eggs, milk and vanilla in a blender until well mixed. Add flour, scraping sides if needed.
Put your muffin tin on a cookie sheet (in case of spills) and spray cups with cooking spray. Put it in the oven to preheat while you add the melted butter to the blender and blend for a minute or two.
Evenly divide the batter among the cups and return tray to the oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffy and golden brown. Enjoy with syrup and powdered sugar.

26 months
Yep, I'm still on months.
I have to be. Marlo changes so much, so fast. She's just talking and talking and her imagination amazes me. I love hearing her play with her dolls and her toys. She's always making them into families: mommies, daddies, babies, brothers and sisters. That or she's rescuing animals, trying to find them with her "noculars".
So this video is from our second trip to the fair. Sorry for all the noise but we were dying laughing at her.

Our first trip to the fair
Marlo was so serious on her pony. Like she'd been doing it all her life.
I loved seeing her there, getting excited for the animals and the rides. Not even scared to go on them all by her big girl self.
For better pictures, go to my sister-in-law Amy's blog.

Marlo has said some pretty sweet things lately. She's just such a sweet little girl, such a lovebug and she's just such a bright light for us right now.
Today when she got out of the bath, she took her toy seal and wrapped him in a washcloth like she was swaddling a baby (not the first time).
She cuddled him up to her neck and said, "You okay, little seal? You hungry? I give you doughnuts, cookies, presents, party hats."

Our son
We lost our son, Griffin David, to a rare chromosome disorder called Trisomy 18. He was 21 weeks old.
His funeral was really beautiful. It was just family, about 30 of us. Having everyone together really helped me.
We're grateful for everyone's concern, cards and flowers.
We're grateful for our son, and for the gift of eternal life that will unite us again.
