Stone Brewery & Restaurant
We met Mark there last night. I love that place. The grounds are just beautiful...there's a koi pond that runs from indoors out to the patio. They have a lawn area with big adirondack chairs and people just kinda sit around like they're in their own backyard. The menu is really inventive and refreshing (for San Diego anyway...I'm a Napa food snob). They show movies on a big screen...tonight was Blazing Saddles, but we didn't make it. We have yet to break down and get a sitter...

Yesterday

Oh well...I still got to sit and have someone rub my feet.
Then we went and watched the guys play for the championship...two games in a row. Mark and Tom both had skinned knees and Mark hurt his wrist (which he won't admit). And on top of that, they lost. Boo.
It was so sticky hot too. I'm not really complaining, I'm just saying. I think it's because I'm still tired from last night, and it's still sticky hot.
And now the dryer just shut off. I don't hear the little magic elves folding the clothes yet...maybe they're upstairs cleaning the bathroom. I guess I'd better go do it...

15 months

Well since last month, she's learned the sign for "please". So now we get to hear, "Moh? Peas?" Sometimes she even says thank you. She copies everything and her voice is the cutest. In the morning when Mark's getting his stuff together to leave she says "Bye, Dad" over and over. Kills me.
Her eighth tooth is coming in. She loves to use utensils when she eats. I'm sneaking vegetables in here and there, but she's not big on them. She does like dill pickles though.
She is a climber. I find her up on chairs all the time...scares me to death. But that's in the genes because both Mark and I were like that.
She's really good about going to bed. I just put her down with a book and her blankie and usually she'll just fall asleep. Sometimes she even says "night night".
She gives kisses and hugs. Her hugs are the best, she squeezes tight and does a big sigh like she really means it.
I can't believe how fast she's grown, but I am loving this time in her life. She is so sweet and happy and I love watching her interact with everything and everyone around her. I'm amazed all the time.

Collections
We went to the fair again on Friday, and my mother in law told me about the collections exhibit, which is something I'd never seen. I was fascinated with what people had thought to collect and how they displayed it. Below are a few of my favorites:
Heart-shaped rocks:

This one reads "Twenty years together as told by the photobooth at the fair". Of couse I loved this one. They even have shots of her pregnant belly:

Found money in 2006, with notes of just where it was found, very interesting:
And things found while walking and jogging. I'm amazed by the entire can of pineapple and the eyelash curler:
Guess what I'm entering next year.....
